Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada, refers to a 320-acre artificial lake and the 3,592-acre developed area around the lake. The area is sometimes referred to as the Lake Las Vegas Resort. With many amenities including dining, shopping, and water sports for entertainment. People are flocking to outside the valley to a great area to not only get away from the hustle and bustle of Vegas but to also have an amazing view of the strip.

Sense of Community:

Actor J. Carlton Adair conceived Lake Las Vegas around 1967 as Lake Adair. At the time he purchased the land and water rights. In 1987, Ronald Boeddeker acquired 2,000 acres from the US Government when Adair went bankrupt. The property was acquired by Transcontinental Properties in 1990. That same year, 3 billion US gal of water was diverted from nearby Lake Mead to fill the lake.The lake was built on top of the Las Vegas Wash, which continues to flow under the lake in two 96-inch diameter pipes. In 1995, Henry Gluck, the former chairman and chief executive officer of Caesars World, became the co-Chairman of Transcontinental Properties. With Sid Bass and Leen Bass, two billionaires from Fort Worth, Texas, he developed the new community. The project cost US $5 billion dollars.

Today Lake Las Vegas features a multitude of activities to do on and off the Lake. which include the Lake Las Vegas Water Park that features an obstacle course with slides, jungle gyms, and swings right on the water. If you prefer the quieter side of life, there are areas to rent yachts and boats to go about your leisurely activities. The Mediterranean style village creates a beautiful scenery with amazing dining and shopping experience. There is a little bit of something for everyone.
